Museum Collection Red – Domaine Gerovassiliou | Prestige, complexity and masterly ageing

The Museum Collection Red from Domaine Gerovassiliou is an exclusive, rare top wine from the estate’s private collection. Produced only in exceptional vintages and released only after long ageing, it represents the highest level of craftsmanship, elegance and cellaring potential.

Grapes & origin
A blend of carefully selected grapes such as Mavroudi, Mavrotragano and Limnio, but usually Syrah with a small percentage of Viognier, from the estate’s own vineyards in Epanomi, near Thessaloniki. The maritime influences and sandy soils give refinement and aromatic depth.

Vinification
Strict selection of the best plots at optimum ripeness. The wine ages at length in French oak barriques and then for many years in bottle in the estate cellars, before being released as part of the Museum Collection.

Tasting notes
Deep ruby red with slight evolution. On the nose complex aromas of black cherry, dried plum, tobacco, leather, cocoa, spices and subtle earthy notes. On the palate rich and silky, with perfectly integrated tannins, lovely freshness and a long, layered finish. Highly refined and harmonious.

Serving tips
Serve at 17–18 °C. Decanting recommended. Perfect with game, slow-cooked beef, lamb, truffle dishes or matured hard cheeses. A wine for special moments and gastronomic dinners.

Cellaring
Exceptional — 15 years or more. A wine that keeps developing its complexity and finesse.
