Biblia Chora Red | Full, elegant and a modern classic from northern Greece

Biblia Chora Red is one of the most recognisable and best-loved red wines of northern Greece. This refined blend combines power and elegance with ripe fruit and subtle oak notes. A harmonious, modern wine that is both approachable and gastronomically versatile.

Grapes & origin
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and a small percentage of the indigenous Agiorgitiko, from carefully selected vineyards around Kokkinochori, at the foot of the Pangaion mountains. The microclimate, with warm days and cool nights, gives perfectly ripe grapes that keep their freshness.

Vinification
After temperature-controlled fermentation the wine ages for around 12 months in French oak barriques, followed by further ageing in bottle. This gives a fine balance between fruit, structure and gentle oak influence.

Tasting notes
Deep ruby red. On the nose aromas of black cherry, cassis, plum, vanilla and subtle spices. On the palate full and round, with velvety tannins, ripe dark fruit and a long, elegant finish.

Serving tips
Serve at 17–18 °C. Delicious with red meat, grilled lamb, pasta with rich sauces, stews or mature cheeses. Also an excellent wine for a festive dinner.

Cellaring
Very good — 6 to 10 years. Gains extra complexity and softness with bottle age.
