Nemea Agiorgitiko – Aivalis Winery | Intense, spicy and authentically Nemea

The Nemea Agiorgitiko from Aivalis Winery is a powerful, characterful red wine from the heart of Nemea. Made from old vines and vinified with minimal intervention, it is a wine with depth, ripe red fruit and a pronounced sense of terroir. A true calling card for this outstanding region of the Peloponnese.

Grapes & origin
100% Agiorgitiko from old vines in selected vineyards around Nemea, with low yields per hectare. The combination of altitude, sunshine and limestone soils gives wines with both concentration and freshness.

Vinification
Traditional vinification with long skin maceration for maximum extraction. The wine then ages for 12 to 18 months in used and partly new French oak barrels, depending on the vintage. Bottled unfiltered, for maximum expression of grape and terroir.

Tasting notes
Deep ruby red. On the nose intense aromas of black cherry, plum, bay leaf, clove, leather and a hint of vanilla. On the palate full and powerful, with ripe tannins, lively acidity and a long, spicy finish. A wine with body, structure and refinement.

Serving tips
Serve at 17–18 °C. Decanting recommended for young vintages. Excellent with grilled red meat, lamb stew, game or mature hard cheeses. A gastronomic red with an authentically Greek soul.

Cellaring
Very good — at least 8 to 10 years. Develops beautifully in bottle and grows more elegant with time.
