Merlot – Arvanitidis Estate | Soft, full and Greek with French allure

The Merlot from Arvanitidis Estate is an elegant, full-bodied red from northern Greece, where the cool climate suits this classic French grape perfectly. The wine surprises with ripe fruit, soft tannins and a refined structure — a Merlot with a Mediterranean and thoroughly modern character.

Grapes & origin
100% Merlot from Arvanitidis‘s private vineyards in Thessaloniki, on the northern slopes of Mount Chortiatis. The combination of altitude, cool nights and calcareous soils gives a balance between ripe fruit and freshness.

Vinification
Traditional red vinification at controlled temperature. The wine then ages for 6 to 12 months in oak barrels (usually French), which gives it softness, complexity and subtle spice.

Tasting notes
Deep ruby red. On the nose aromas of blackcurrant, ripe plum, vanilla, cedar and a hint of cocoa. On the palate soft, round and full, with velvety tannins, ripe fruit and a warm, long finish with a touch of spice.

Serving tips
Serve at 16–18 °C. Excellent with red meat, stews, lamb cutlets, roast poultry or cheeses with a bit of bite. Also a fine choice for a classic wine evening.

Cellaring
Ready to drink, but can age another 4–6 years in bottle.
