Monolithos Nemea – Bairaktaris Winery | Full, soft and classic Agiorgitiko
The Monolithos Nemea from Bairaktaris Winery is a classic red wine of 100% Agiorgitiko from the heart of the famous Nemea region. It embodies the soft tannins, ripe red fruit and spicy finesse for which Agiorgitiko is so loved — an excellent choice for everyday enjoyment and for the dinner table alike.
Grapes & origin
100% Agiorgitiko from the family’s own vineyards around Nemea, at an altitude of around 400–500 metres. The terroir of clay and limestone soils and the Mediterranean climate give an excellent balance between ripe fruit and fresh acidity.
Vinification
Traditional vinification in stainless steel tanks. The wine then ages for several months in used oak barrels, which adds softness and structure without overpowering the fruit.
Tasting notes
Deep ruby red. On the nose ripe aromas of cherry, red plum, gentle herbs and a hint of vanilla. On the palate velvety, medium-bodied and elegant, with supple tannins, fresh acidity and a round, warm finish.
Serving tips
Serve at 16–18 °C. Excellent with grilled meat, moussaka, stews, stuffed vegetables or mature cheeses. Also a lovely red for everyday dinners.
Cellaring
Ready to drink, but can age nicely for another 3–5 years in bottle.
