Samos High Peaks (Psiles Korfes) is an elegant dry white wine of 100% Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains from the highest and steepest mountain vineyards on the island of Samos. This expressive wine shows the pure, fresh side of the Muscat grape and is produced by the award-winning cooperative EOS Samos.
Grapes & origin
100% Muscat Blanc from high-altitude (up to 900 m), terraced vineyards on granite-rich soils. The altitude and the cooling influence of the Aegean keep the grapes aromatically fresh with lively acidity.
Vinification
The grapes are hand-picked. Fermentation takes place at low temperature in stainless steel tanks, with a focus on preserving aromatic intensity and natural freshness. No oak ageing — pure fruit in the glass.
Tasting notes
Clear straw yellow. Intense aromas of orange blossom, lime, ripe grapes and a hint of spice. On the palate lively and taut, with fresh acidity, a dry style and an elegant, lightly mineral finish.
Serving tips
Serve at 8–10 °C. Perfect with sushi, goat’s cheese, salads with citrus vinaigrette, prawns, white fish, light curries or Greek mezze with fresh herbs. It also works well with meat, as it balances the fat.
Cellaring
At its best within 2–3 years. Drinking young is recommended for maximum aromatic expression.
