Moschopolis 18 – Mavrotragano & Syrah | Intense, rare and modern Greek craftsmanship

The Moschopolis 18 is a powerful, expressive red wine from Moschopolis Winery that combines the rare Greek grape Mavrotragano with the international power of Syrah. This wine is modern, deep and refined all at once — an impressive blend with character, complexity and great cellaring potential.

Grapes & origin
A blend of Mavrotragano and Syrah from carefully selected vineyards in northern Greece. Combining a rare indigenous variety with an international grape gives a unique balance between structure, aromatic intensity and elegance.

Vinification
Hand harvesting and strict selection of the best grapes. Long skin maceration for maximum extraction. The wine then ages for around 12 to 18 months in French oak barrels, followed by further bottle ageing for harmony and depth.

Tasting notes
Deep dark red with purple reflections. On the nose intense aromas of black cherry, blackberry, violets, black pepper, cocoa and subtle smoky notes. On the palate full and structured, with ripe tannins, fresh acidity and a long, spicy, mineral finish. Complex and powerful, yet elegantly balanced.

Serving tips
Serve at 17–18 °C. Decanting recommended. Perfect with game, grilled red meat, lamb, stews or matured hard cheeses. A wine for gastronomic moments.

Cellaring
Very good — 8 to 12 years. Develops beautifully with bottle age and gains complexity.
