Deux Dieux – Aivalis Winery | Intense, opulent and top class from Nemea

Deux Dieux (“Two Gods”) from Aivalis Winery is an exclusive, powerful red wine that brings together the best of Greece and international winemaking. This luxurious cuvée is a blend of Syrah and Agiorgitiko from old, low-yielding vines. An opulent, deep, oak-aged wine for the true enthusiast.

Grapes & origin
A blend of Syrah (50%) and Agiorgitiko (50%) from selected high-altitude vineyards in Nemea (Peloponnese). The vineyards are over 45 years old and are worked by hand with minimal intervention.

Vinification
After a long skin maceration the wines are fermented separately. This is followed by 24 months of ageing in new French barriques and further bottle ageing at the estate. The wine is bottled unfiltered, which gives maximum concentration and expression.

Tasting notes
Deep, opaque purple-red. Intense aromas of black cherry, plum jam, dark chocolate, vanilla, espresso, tobacco and sweet spices. On the palate full, creamy and velvety, with ripe tannins, beautiful balance and a long, luxurious finish with a hint of liquorice and smoke.

Serving tips
Serve at 18 °C. Decanting recommended (at least an hour beforehand). Perfect with game, grilled red meat, truffle dishes, beef fillet or mature cheeses. A wine for special moments or culinary highlights.

Cellaring
Exceptional — 15 years or more. Develops complexity and elegance with bottle age.
