The Syrah from Domaine Gerovassiliou is an impressive red wine with international allure, produced with absolute precision in Epanomi, northern Greece. It combines the spicy power of Syrah with Mediterranean warmth and elegance — rich, complex and perfectly balanced.

Grapes & origin
100% Syrah from Evangelos Gerovassiliou‘s own vineyards in Epanomi, near Thessaloniki. The setting between sea and hills, together with sandy soils, gives ripe grapes with refined tannins and lively acidity.

Vinification
Traditional vinification with temperature-controlled fermentation. The wine then ages for around 12 months in new French oak barrels, followed by bottle ageing. The result is a wine with structure, complexity and great cellaring potential.

Tasting notes
Deep ruby red in the glass. On the nose intense aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, pepper, violets, mocha and toasted oak. On the palate full and round, with soft tannins, spicy accents and a long, velvety finish with a hint of cedar and chocolate.

Serving tips
Serve at 16–18 °C. Excellent with leg of lamb, beef, game, stews or matured cheeses. Also delicious with roast meat in spicy sauces. Decanting recommended for young vintages.

Cellaring
Excellent — can easily age 8 to 10 years (or more) in bottle, gaining depth and elegance along the way.
