The Sauvignon Blanc Fumé from Domaine Gerovassiliou is a refined, characterful white wine from Epanomi, near Thessaloniki. This distinctive Sauvignon Blanc combines aromatic freshness with subtle oak notes from barrel ageing. The result is a complex, elegant wine with international allure.

Grapes & origin
100% Sauvignon Blanc from Domaine Gerovassiliou‘s own vineyards in Epanomi, northern Greece. The maritime climate and limestone soils contribute aromatic intensity and lovely freshness.

Vinification
After a careful harvest, part of the wine ferments in French oak barrels, followed by ageing on the fine lees (sur lie). This method gives the wine extra complexity, structure and the subtle smoky notes typical of the fumé style.

Tasting notes
Clear golden yellow. On the nose aromas of citrus, grapefruit, green apple and tropical fruit, complemented by notes of vanilla, toasted nuts and light smoke. On the palate full and elegant, with fresh acidity, a creamy texture and a long, refined finish.

Serving tips
Serve at 10–12 °C. Perfect with grilled fish, shellfish, risotto, poultry or creamy pasta. Also excellent with herbal dishes or those with a light smoky flavour.

Cellaring
5 to 7 years — develops more complexity and depth with bottle age.
