Samos Nectar – EOS Samos | Intense, honeyed and a unique dessert wine
Samos Nectar from EOS Samos is a remarkable, rich dessert wine from the island of Samos, made from the aromatic grape Moschato Aspro (white Muscat). It is produced from sun-dried grapes, which gives an intense concentration of aromas and natural sweetness. The result is a luxurious wine with depth and complexity.
Grapes & origin
100% Moschato Aspro (white Muscat) from the terraced vineyards on the slopes of Samos. The warm climate and the influence of the sea give grapes of exceptional aromatic intensity.
Vinification
After harvest the grapes are dried in the sun to concentrate their sugars and aromas. The wine then ages for at least 3 years in oak barrels, which gives extra complexity and a deep, rich flavour.
Tasting notes
Deep amber. On the nose aromas of honey, dried apricot, figs, caramel, orange peel and spices. On the palate full and velvety, with a beautiful balance between sweetness and fresh acidity and a long, elegant finish.
Serving tips
Serve lightly chilled at 10–12 °C. Delicious with desserts made with honey or nuts, crème brûlée, baklava, blue cheeses or dried fruit. Also perfect as a digestif.
Cellaring
Very good — 10 years or more. Can develop even more complexity with bottle age.
