Anthemis – EOS Samos | Rich, velvety and award-winning Muscat
Samos Anthemis from EOS Samos is a prestigious fortified dessert wine made from the famous Moschato Aspro (white Muscat) of the island of Samos. It is known for its rich aromas, velvety structure and long ageing in oak barrels. One of the most decorated sweet wines in Greece.
Grapes & origin
100% Moschato Aspro (white Muscat) from the steep terraced vineyards on the slopes of Samos. The island’s unique microclimate — plenty of sun and a cool sea breeze — gives grapes with intense aromas and natural sweetness.
Vinification
After fermentation the wine is fortified and ages for at least 5 years in oak barrels. This long ageing gives the wine its complex aromas and deep amber colour.
Tasting notes
Deep amber. On the nose rich aromas of honey, dried apricot, caramel, raisins, orange peel and spices. On the palate full and velvety, with a perfect balance between sweetness and fresh acidity and a long, elegant finish.
Serving tips
Serve lightly chilled at 10–12 °C. Delicious with desserts, nut tarts, crème brûlée, blue cheeses or dried fruit. Also excellent as a digestif.
Cellaring
Excellent — 10 years or more. The wine can develop further and gain complexity with bottle age.
