Moschopolis 8 is a characterful, complex red wine from northern Greece, produced by the innovative Moschopolis Winery near Thessaloniki. It combines indigenous and international grape varieties with craftsmanship, precision and ageing potential. A modern classic with depth and elegance.

Grapes & origin
A refined blend of Syrah, Xinomavro and Mavrotragano from higher-altitude vineyards in the Thessaloniki region. The mountainous terroir, combined with sustainable vineyard practices, gives concentration, freshness and structure.

Vinification
Each variety is vinified separately. The wine then ages for 18 months in new and second-fill French oak barrels, followed by bottle ageing. The name “8” refers to the ageing period and the complexity it creates.

Tasting notes
Deep ruby red in the glass. On the nose aromas of blackcurrant, sour cherry, pepper, leather, tobacco and vanilla. On the palate powerful and structured, with ripe tannins, fresh acidity and a long, spicy, lightly smoky finish. Layered and gastronomic.

Serving tips
Serve at 16–18 °C. Excellent with red meat, game, leg of lamb, stews or matured cheeses. Decanting recommended for younger bottles.

Cellaring
Great cellaring potential: can develop for 8–10 years (or more) in bottle. Ideal for lovers of powerful, oak-aged wines with a Greek character.
