Genesis Red from Kechris Winery is a light, approachable red wine that suits modern Greek cooking perfectly. Bottled in a handy 0.5 litre format, it is ideal for everyday use or for anyone who simply wants a small bottle with a meal. Fresh, fruity and versatile.

Grapes & origin
A blend of local and international varieties such as Xinomavro, Merlot and/or Syrah from northern Greece, where Kechris is based (the Thessaloniki region). The wine is made with a focus on fruit, freshness and drinkability.

Vinification
Vinification in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. No oak ageing, so that the natural freshness and fruity character are preserved.

Tasting notes
Clear ruby red. On the nose aromas of cherry, redcurrant and strawberry with a hint of spice. The flavour is supple and light, with soft tannins, fresh acidity and an elegant, fruity finish.

Serving tips
Serve at 15–16 °C, lightly chilled on warm days if you like. Delicious with snacks, pasta, mezze, grilled vegetables or barbecued chicken. Also ideal as a red for lunch or a picnic.

Cellaring
At its best young — drink within 2 years to enjoy the fresh fruit.
