Samos Grand Cru from EOS Samos is a refined dessert wine made from the famous Moschato Aspro (white Muscat) of the island of Samos. It is produced from grapes grown in the island’s finest high-altitude vineyards, which gives extra aromatic intensity and elegance.
Grapes & origin
100% Moschato Aspro (white Muscat) from steep terraced vineyards at high altitude on Samos. The combination of abundant sun, cool sea winds and poor soils gives grapes with intense aromas and natural sweetness.
Vinification
The wine is produced by the traditional method for fortified Muscat wines. Alcohol is added during fermentation to retain the natural sugars, which gives the wine its rich, aromatic character.
Tasting notes
Clear golden yellow. On the nose intense aromas of honey, grapes, apricot, peach, orange peel and flowers. On the palate full and aromatic, with a lovely balance between sweetness and fresh acidity and a long, elegant finish.
Serving tips
Serve lightly chilled at 8–10 °C. Delicious with fruit desserts, pastries, cream desserts, baklava or blue cheeses. Also perfect as an aperitif or digestif.
