Malagouzia – Arvanitidis Estate | Aromatic, fresh and delicately spiced

This Malagouzia from Arvanitidis Estate in northern Greece is an expressive, elegant white wine with a pronounced aromatic profile. An excellent example of the modern style of Greek white wine: fresh, floral and surprisingly versatile at the table.

Grapes & origin
100% Malagouzia from the private vineyards of the family estate Arvanitidis, in Thessaloniki. The hilly terroir, with good ventilation and plenty of sunshine, gives aromatic concentration and fresh acidity.

Vinification
After cold skin maceration, the wine undergoes a slow fermentation at low temperature in stainless steel tanks. It rests briefly on its fine lees for extra texture and depth, with no oak ageing. The result: pure grape character with subtle complexity.

Tasting notes
Clear light yellow with greenish reflections. On the nose aromas of peach, lime, orange blossom, basil and a hint of white pepper. On the palate supple, fresh and elegant, with a harmonious balance between fruit, acidity and a light spiciness on the finish.

Serving tips
Serve at 8–10 °C. Delicious with Mediterranean dishes based on lemon and olive oil, grilled fish, vegetable dishes, stuffed vine leaves or Asian fusion cooking. Also an excellent wine for drinks or on the terrace.

Cellaring
At its best young — within 2 to 3 years of bottling — to experience its fresh, aromatic character in full.
