Metsovo Kefalotyri is an authentic hard Greek cheese with a full, piquant and lightly salty taste. It has a firm structure and an outspoken character, which makes it well suited to cold and warm preparations alike.
Taste and use
Kefalotyri is lovely as a table cheese, grated over pasta and oven dishes, or fried as saganaki. Its powerful taste goes excellently with bread, olives, tomato, mezze and a glass of Greek wine.
Serving tip
Fry briefly until golden and serve with lemon for a classic Greek cheese snack.
